The Wakeman Agency is proud to announce our engagement with the Emmett Till Legacy Foundation (ETLF). ETLF is dedicated to seeking justice for Emmett Till, who was brutally tortured and killed in 1955 at age 14, during an infamous racially-motivated hate crime.
The FBI reopened the case of Emmett’s murder in 2018, based on pressure from members of the family to hold the alleged perpetrators accountable.
The Wakeman Agency will lead strategy and execution of the #JusticeforEmmettTill campaign to catalyze people toward supporting Emmett Till’s case, as well as other civil rights era crimes that remain unsolved. The campaign will:
- Create a steady drumbeat of conversations about these unsolved crimes, with the goal of keeping Emmett Till and other victims in the public discourse.
- Garner support for the Victims of Racially Motivated Murders Act, that is being recommended by the Till family to empower victims’ families.
- Raise funds for ETLF to continue its critical work.
Wakeman will deploy a robust digital strategy to engage influencers and rally the public, as well as leverage our media contacts to secure widespread print, web and broadcast coverage of this cause.
The Wakeman team is proud to work on an issue that has deep personal significance to us: the fight for justice.
