The school continues to place its graduates in the wake of a city unemployment rate of 10%. Despite one of the worst economic downturns since the Great Depression, Grace Institute is getting unemployed and underserved NYC-area women back in to the workforce, one job at a time. Through its tuition-free business skills program, students learn the computer and business skills necessary to secure jobs, and keep them, in a tight job market.
HEAF: Raising the Bar: 20,000 Minority & Low-income NYC Students with College Degrees by 2030 Since 1989 Harlem Educational Activities Fund (HEAF), along with their school and community partnerships, has helped more than 10,000 New York City students develop the intellectual curiosity, academic ability, social values and personal resilience needed to ensure success in school, career and life. More notable is their high success rate at engaging children and their families in the prospect of higher education.
Grace Institute Graduates Get 1,000 Interviews in One Day Grace Institute graduates were able to network with representatives from over 30 companies and community partners at the school’s Career Day. During the two-hour event on Tuesday, 100 Grace students gave out resumes and sat down with an average of 10 employers each: that’s 1,000 interviews in one day.
